Kali Mattinson

Backstory & Formal Training
Kali grew up in the small community of Viking, AB. She was raised in an entrepreneurial family where her love of design was fostered from a young age. Fast forward to attending NAIT in 2007, Kali’s technical training in building code, AutoCAD and construction methods laid the foundation for her future in both new construction and renovation projects. Following NAIT, Kali studied Residential Interiors at the University of Alberta.
Professional Experience
Over the past 15 years, Kali’s experience in the industry has included design, account management, manufacturing, product development, and territory management for one of Canada’s largest custom cabinet companies. During this time she worked alongside the industries top talent and business leaders. Her work history has allowed Kali to be a part of thousands of projects including high-rise multifamily developments, commercial projects, and single family homes in NS, ON, MB, SK, AB, BC, Washington and Oregon. In 2018 her work was featured in both Regional and National CHBA award winning projects. In 2021, her ambition of starting her own business was materialized as Archetype Kitchens. Kali’s clients can expect to have a true partner in their projects. Her core values, or “3C’s” are; Craftsmanship, Courtesy and Curiosity. What this boils down to is never sacrificing on quality, respectful partnerships with our clients and trade partners, and committment to lifelong learning.
Personal
When she’s not working on design projects, Kali loves being at home basking in new mom glory. She loves cycling, tennis, skiing, diving and hiking. Her other interests include dark roast coffee (a traditionalist), working on her chess game, watching F1 with her partner J, and champagne with pizza because why not.
